Since I moved out the my parents house, I have been focusing on eating organic and sustainable foods. I have even pulled my mom over to eating meats that have never been given hormones or antibiotics. This has allowed her to eat meat again for the first time in more than 10 years. It is truly amazing how much better your feel when you leave the junk out of your diet.
Farmer’s Table takes the concept of sustainable eating to the next level by focusing cooking with less salt and skipping butter and cream.
If you are a seafood fan, all the seafood at Farmer’s Table is sustainably caught, captured, or raised.
The Farmer’s Table on sustainability and delicious food is astounding. We started our dinner with a starter of 19th Street Taco. The Beef Short ribs were extremely tender and the flavors stood out with the wildflower honey slaw being the unique taste that will have me ordering this appetizer time and time again. I also love getting the Tuna Tartar with fish lover friends. Sometimes I even get it as a main course for lunch.
The cocktail creations are called garden to glass. They have tons of awesome choices that I always want all of them! This date night I went for a Strawberry Jalapeno Skinny Margarita! There is also a list of sensational refresh and revive drinks that are non-alcoholic. The Cuke of Earl is my favorite and I am dying to try the rest!
After the drinks and appetizers, I got the Florida 77 salad. This is a vegetarian and gluten-free choices that is market on the menu so that people with gluten-free, vegetarian and even vegan preference can easily make choices.
My husband and I usually order the burgers as our main course, but tonight I wanted to try something different. The Grass Fed Burger is consistently juicy and flavorful.
Since it was date night, I went with the steak. The meat at Farmer’s Table is grass fed and finished and never given antibiotics or hormones. These are some well cared for and healthy cows. This is the Grass Fed – Never Grain Fed Skirt Steak with white mashed sweet potatoes, Jicama Slaw and Cilantro Chimichurri.
I also added an additional side of Tumeric Roasted Cauliflower. Tumeric is so good for you and works great as a side dish. They know what they are doing in the kitchen.
We got to the crowning moment at the end with dessert. This is my first time ever making it to dessert at Farmer’s Table. I ordered the Apple Crisp and my hubby had the Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream over the Opera Cake! My husband keeps talking about this awesomeness and has insistent we return to get it again. He cannot get over that it was vegan!
Make your reservations early in season because the locals have been sharing the awesomeness and Farmer’s Table gets busy as tempature drops in South Florida.
