Farmer’s Table Sets Up in BocaIt’s a new (green) day for chef-restaurateur Joey Giannuzzi, who/’s teamed up with local real estate developer Mitchell Robins to open Farmer’s Table (1901 N. Military Trail, 561-417-5836) in the old Rosso Italia space next to Red Steakhouse in Boca Raton.
A continuation of the health and environmentally conscious philosophy that drove Giannuzzi’s Green Gourmet to-go outlet and cafe (which, btw, is now closed), Farmer’s promises food based on “fresh, seasonal ingredients in theri purest form, devoid of excess fat, salt, processing, toxins and all the other extras you don’t want.” Also offered are menus for kids, vegetarians, the gluten-adverse and other restricted diners.
The 200-seat restaurant will feature sustainable fish, grass-fed meats, produce from local purveyors and specialty cocktails. It will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and offer take-out options and catering services.
On the menu are choices from Jackman Ranch beef burgers to Korean-style wings, edamame-shrimp dumplings to cauliflower and brie flatbreads, zahtar-spiced salmon to vegetarian lasagna, and wood-fired apple crisp to vegan “gelato.”
